Knowledge is not skill ~ Knowledge + 10,000 times is skill.
"Never Too Young..."
Because of the vibrant command required to play an instrument skillfully, the study of every beginning student in my studio will begin with the famous Suzuki Method. It provides strong foundational study of skills necessary to bring the instrument under the immediate command and natural response of the student. The specified ear training from the beginning, results in the student absorbing and realizing all the nuances of music which gently leads him to a musically natural beauty in performance.
When basic foundational skills are under the command of the student, we begin reading music* and supplimental materials may be added to the study repetrior to reinforce transference of technique.
The Suzuki Method requires consistant, attentive practice at home between lessons. Therefore, a parent or over-seeing adult is required to attend child(ren)'s studio lessons and is expected to attentively and actively work with the student at home. http://www.suzukiassociation.org
Does anybody recognize these guys? Congratulations to our very own Quint Quartet for putting the "class" back into "classical," and thereby winning the runner-up trophy at the City of Chandler's 6th annual Teen Talent Competition! Its not every day that the youngest group is also the most professional in a city-wide competition!
